Your writing resolution for 2023 is due on January 5th. Please send them to Toni. Our first meeting of the new year will be on Monday, January 9th at 10:30am. See our schedule for all our meetings this year. For other events, see the Atlanta Writers Club schedule. Those looking to join our critique group, email info@roswellcritique.com.
What is a writing resolution?
A writing resolution is your goals for the year as a writer. From completing so many chapters to attending conventions, it covers all activities that will hone your craft. It should include how many critique periods you intend on participating in and decisions you intend to make. In other words, the things we should be focusing on and discussing during our meetings this year.
Why are they important?
Beyond the studies that show writing down goals makes them upwards of forty percent more likely to be achieved, it is practical to have our members’ goals so we can tailor what our group does to help us achieve our goals.
Example:
2023 Writing Resolution
<Name>
I intend to complete <#> chapters of <book> by <date>. I plan to participate in <%> of the critique periods. I look forward to attending <convention, signing, meeting> this year.
Furthermore, I intend to send out <#> query letters and decide <goal>.
Also, I will complete <other goals>.
Roswell Critique will continue to help me <decision, goal, learning>.
